If you live in the area, take note

Residents in Whittle-le-Woods have been told to keep their doors and windows closed due to a huge waste fire.

Nine fire engines rushed to the scene of the blaze - and crews are using two jets, one portable pump and one water bowser to extinguish the flames. It is thought that crews will remain at the scene 'for some time'. Members of the public are urged to avoid the area and nearby residents have been told to keep their doors and windows closed.

"Update 11:58 – Firefighters are using two jets, one light portable pump, and one water bowser to extinguish the fire. Crews are likely to remain in attendance for some time. Please avoid the area."
