The application has attracted scores of objections from residents
Controversial plans to build 129 new homes in Morecambe are set to be approved despite hundreds of objections.
Sharon Wilding, of Bare Lane, objected: "We do not need this in our area. Stop using green land to build houses, we do not have enough infrastructure to support this. This will ruin our area. Do not grant permission for this. We could use this land to plant a wood and create a wildlife habitat that will be much better for the area, the people and the planet."
Patricia Harrison, of Williams Avenue, highlighted concerns over Oakmere's suggested use of the recreational area called Torrisholme Barrow as public land for a playground. She revealed that the land is used by farmers who often put a "bull in field" sign up with at least one walker being seriously injured by cattle.
