Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert made her first public appearance since announcing that she had filed for a divorce from her husband of 18 years.
The gun-toting conservative joined other members of the House GOP leadership for a press conference on the World Health Organization outside of the Capitol on Wednesday, just one day after she said she and her husband, Jayson, were splitting up.
“I’ve always been faithful in my marriage, and I believe strongly in marriage, which makes this announcement that much more difficult,” Boebert said. “He started yelling and using profanities and told me that I was trespassing and that he was calling the Sheriff’s Office. I told him I was leaving the documents on the chair outside of the door, he closed the door then let the dogs out,” the affidavit says.
