Council issue update on fatal fire in Paisley
has issued an update after a large fire in Paisley that resulted in the death of a woman.
Emergency services were called to Belmont Road, in the Gallowhill area of Paisley, at around 10.45pm last night.Renfrewshire Council has now confirmed that the fire affected eight properties, all of which are council-owned, and their housing teams are supporting those who need accommodation. A spokesperson said:"We were alerted to a fire on Belmont Road in the Gallowhill area of Paisley by emergency services last night. Policehas confirmed a 38-year-old woman has died and our thoughts and condolences are with the family and friends.
"We are supporting the emergency services who remain on scene and our housing teams are supporting anyone needing accommodation. "Anyone with information relating to the fire should call Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference 3922 of April 13, 2023."
