Iditarod officials on Monday disqualified the Iditarod’s top rookie from 2023, citing a rule that addresses personal conduct.
ANCHORAGE, Alaska -
“Musher conduct that is recklessly injurious to the Iditarod, Iditarod competitors, sponsors or anyone associated with the race is strictly prohibited,” the rule states. “The Board strongly condemns this behavior,” the email read. “Violence and abuse against women is highly unacceptable and inappropriate, and the ITC Board cannot tolerate such conduct by anyone affiliated with the Iditarod.”
