“I got scared away by some people in baseball. They said Reggie, the first thing you’d have to do is resign from baseball, from the Yankees, you’d probably won’t get hired again,” he said when asked about why he didn’t sue. Jackson, who was drafted by the then Kansas City Athletics in 1966, played for the team for nine seasons from 1967 to 1975, where he won three World Series titles and was named AL MVP in 1973., and Angels before returning to the Athletics for his final season in 1987.
