A refugee who sheltered Edward Snowden called on the Canadian government to grant asylum to others who aided him and are still in Hong Kong

OTTAWA—A Filipino refugee who once sheltered Edward Snowden called on the Canadian government to grant asylum to others who aided Mr. Snowden and are still living in Hong Kong.

Vanessa Rodel arrived in Canada on Monday night with her 7-year-old daughter after the two were accepted as refugees earlier this year. They were scheduled to fly to Montreal on Tuesday, where a community group based there will help them find a place to live and get settled.
