Real are expected to compensate Diaz by paying him the entirety of his salary. He signed a one-year contract in the summer. Contacted by The Athletic, a senior Real Madrid youth academy source denied that Diaz would be fired. They instead claimed Diaz has himself asked to leave, to take up an opportunity at the academy of second-tier Leganes.
