Cutting the summer holidays to four weeks could help parents better deal with childcare and would be healthier for children, according to LancsLive and CumbriaLive readers.
Options included a four week summer holiday, a five-week one, or a three-week break in the summer, with longer holidays at Christmas or at half-term. Around 69% of those responding, said they would like to see the summer holidays cut to four weeks, with nearly two-thirds of respondents being parents of age-school children and 18% being teachers.Kids getting bored, childcare struggles and a better spread of time off across the year are some of the reasons quoted by those who want to see changes.
