Controversy involving Wilson, a longtime political operative, swirled in early January when she was appointed to the SHA.
The provincial government announced on Friday Raynelle Wilson has been appointed as the new deputy minister to the premier and cabinet secretary, effective July 1.
One source alleged Wilson’s appointment contributed to the sudden departure of then-CEO Scott Livingstone.Health Minister Paul Merriman had defended her appointment at the SHA, saying in January Wilson was qualified for the position. Merriman has said Livingstone left for his own reasons. Wilson is currently a special advisor to the deputy minister of health, according to a government news release. It’s not clear if her stint with the SHA has been completed.
