The 55 year-old musician – whose real name is Robert Sylvester Kelly – was convicted in September last year on nine counts including racketeering and sex trafficking charges after a five-week trial.
A victim identified only as Angela, who also gave evidence in Kelly’s trial, was one of seven women who attended the sentencing hearing to read out their victim impact statements. She added: “With every addition of a new victim you grew in wickedness, cockiness, diminishing any form of humanity or self-awareness, which soon became the breeding ground for your God-like complex.”Another victim said in her impact statement that Kelly broke her spirit. “I literally wished I would die because of how low you made me feel,” she said to the singer.
