Ben McPherson believes Queen’s Park will discover a winning formula soon as they follow the Celtic way to success.

The 19-year-old said: “We’ve got a great backroom staff and wins will come. We get a clear message from the gaffer and it’s just about putting it into practice on the pitch. That was my best performance since I came here and I’ve been getting better with each game.
“It’s similar here to the way Celtic want you to play, building from the back.” McPherson, who played for Celtic’s first team in their pre-season games in Japan and Dublin this year, is aiming to continue the progress he showed in the Hoops B team under coaches Stephen McManus and Darren O’Dea. He said: “Moving from the Lowland League up to the Championship is what I needed this season and it has been good to get into the Scotland Under-21 squad as well. Stephen and Darren are in regular contact with me and I know they are watching how I get on at Queen’s Park.”
Jack Turner’s equaliser for the Spiders cancelled out Calum Gallagher’s opener for Airdrie. Gallagher said: “We have set standards and it’s disappointing when we fall below them. We’re not at our best yet but we are in the top half of the league when some might have expected us to be the whipping boys. There is more to come from us and we are licking our lips at the prospect of the remaining three- quarters of the season.
