Samantha Basha, a member of the Program and Administrative Services bargaining team, said she estimates between 5,000 and 10,000 showed up to Parliament Hill on Wednesday.Article content “The employer is still meeting us with the same disrespect that they always have throughout the past two years but we’ve got the members behind us and that’s really all we need,” Basha said.
At a media scrum on the hill at 12:30 p.m., Aylward called on the Prime Minister to get involved and not “turn his back” on workers. “The employer is stalling these negotiations,” Aylward stated. He noted that PSAC has moved on its own wage offer but said the government hasn’t budged on its own.In a statement issued around the same time as PSAC’s media scrum Wednesday afternoon, Treasury Board President Mona Fortier said it is “determined to land agreements quickly, just as we have already done with other unions, but we need the PSAC to start bringing their demands in line with the Public Interest Commission recommendations.
