Sheng Thao is the next mayor of Oakland, according to the final vote tally from the Alameda County Registrar of Voters.
"It’s been a long journey, and I’m incredibly honored by the trust the voters have placed in me," Thaolate Monday night."This was a very close election and I am proud to be elected as Oakland’s next Mayor."
