Allies of Mike_Pence are launching a super PAC to bolster his expected bid for the 2024 Republican nomination for president. The PAC will be co-chaired by former RepHensarling and veteran Republican strategist Scott Reed.
Former Rep. Jeb Hensarling and veteran Republican strategist Scott Reed will co-chair the super PAC, called the Committed to America PAC, per Politico. The group will reportedly be publicly launching on Tuesday."The country’s at real crossroads, and the Republican Party needs a strong conservative candidate who can win," Reed said, according to the Associated Press.
Bobby Saparow, Gov. Brian Kemp’s former campaign manager, will reportedly run the group. Hensarling is a longtime friend of Pence and served with him in the House of Representatives. The super PAC's launch stands as the clearest sign that the former vice president and Indiana governor will make a run for president. If he does, he will face a bevy of adversaries, headlined by his former running mate and boss, former President Donald Trump.
In addition to Trump declaring for the Republican nomination, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, and former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson are also in the running. Tim Scott has formed a presidential exploratory committee and will reportedly launch his campaign next week.If Pence were to declare, it may not even make him the biggest Republican rival to the former president.
