The Princess of Wales is set to visit Nottinghamshire on Wednesday, October 11, to learn about how universities are ensuring their students have the right mental health support. As the new academic year has begun, Kate Middleton will be visiting Nottingham Trent University on Wednesday, October 10 to hear how NTU and The University of Nottingham are encouraging proactive mental health management.

She will also be learning about how the University of Nottingham encourages peer-to-peer mentoring to have students helping other students.

This visit is part of a number of engagements being carried out by Kate and her husband, Prince William, across the country this week to mark World Mental Health Day, which took place on Tuesday, October 10. earlier this week, the pair visited Birmingham where they hosted a forum for young people called Heads Together, which challenges stigmas around mental health.

During her visit to Nottinghamshire, Her Royal Highness will also be attending a Freshers Fayre-style exhibition so she can meet students and colleagues who go above and beyond to help students with their mental health, before taking part in wellbeing sessions. Kate is passionate about ensuring all young people have the correct tools in place to take care of their mental wellbeing, especially when it comes to understanding and managing their own emotions.

The Princess also has a focus on encouraging young people to build key protective factors, such as healthy relationships and communities, so that they can have strong foundations as they move through life.
