George Brooksbank, the father of Princess Eugenie’s husband Jack Brooksbank, has died at the age of 72

Following his poor health and his stint in hospital last year, Eugenie and Jack were reportedly told to “prepare for the worst”. Speaking of his passing, a royal insider told MailOnline: "George had been in hospital with covid and had not been the same after that. He had been unwell for some time. It’s been a difficult time for Jack losing his father before the Christening."
Her Majesty has largely been out of action in recent weeks and cancelled several appearances, but managed to attend the christening of her great-grandchildren.Discussing the matter, Penny Junor told the Metro: "I’ve never heard of two royal babies being christened together like this but it will be wonderful to have the Queen there.
