Blades general manager Colin Priestner admits that the team was “a bit small this year” and much younger than usual.
Priestner said the Blades have the ability to return nearly the entire squad from this season, aside from a handful of players, including three graduating over-agers — “unlike in recent years where we lose eight or nine. Priestner said he tried to address team size with the addition of forwards Josh Pillar, Noah Boyko or Kyren Gronick prior to the trade deadline. All three are around six feet tall, or, in the case of Boyko, more.
“We never once got to see our whole forward group together other than when Robins played on one leg in the playoffs at about 10 per cent when he played two minutes a game or less,” noted Priestner.
