PHILADELPHIA -- Across Philadelphia and Montgomery counties, many Catholic churchgoers said prayers for Ukraine Sunday morning, as Archbishop Nelson Perez said he would be celebrating mass to pray for peace.In the congregation listening to him was one woman whose family in Northeast Poland is offering help to those trying to flee Ukraine.
She says floods of women and children are fleeing Ukraine to Poland while the men have to stay behind."I was supposed to fly on Thursday but everything was canceled. We were trying to leave and everything was blocked. I saw the military equipment on the way and it was so scary," said Yednak, from Huntingdon Valley.
