Wisconsin police launched a homicide investigation after finding the body of a 10-year-old girl near a walking trail on Monday.
Iliana"Lily" Peters was identified as the body found by the Chippewa Falls Police Department. There have been no arrests, but police are following up on"multiple leads," CFPD wrote in a statement on social media."Chippewa Falls Police Department and the numerous assisting agencies will be working diligently on this case," CFPD's statement read.
Peters's father told police about her disappearance Sunday night when she didn't return home from a visit to her aunt’s house. Officers found a bicycle in the woods near a walking trail and found her body in the same area.Anyone with information for this investigation can call 1-800-263-5906 to submit tips.
