The shooting happened soon after midnight outside a motel in the 4500 block of Idaho, near Cullen Boulevard, where police were investigating a report of a disturbance.An officer heard gunfire and stepped outside to see a white Expedition vehicle driving past Idaho, with a passenger brandishing a firearm through the open window. The officer opened fire on the vehicle as the vehicle continued driving past.nicole.hensley@chron.
