The chase started just before midnight, police told On Scene TV reporters. After shutting down 290, the subject of the chase came to a stop around Fairbanks North Houston Road and had a brief standoff with police. After police broke through the window of the car, the person got out and fled over the concrete barrier.
Officers were able to apprehend the suspect on foot, according to HPD. Police did not release the reason why the person was being initially pursued.
