An argument at a nail salon escalated into a physical fight that landed three shop employees in jail. Assault and disorderly conduct charges were filed Monday.

On Friday evening, officers were dispatched on a report of an altercation at a nail salon on South Mall Drive in St. George.

Officers learned the altercation began as a verbal argument between two of the salon's employees, 45-year-old Tam Trong Tu, of St. George, and Long T. Ly, 47, of Garden Grove, California, who were arguing over business practices and how clients were assigned to the employees, according to charging documents filed in 5th District Court.

As the argument grew more heated, Ly "continually puffed his chest out" as he approached Tu and then challenged him to a fight, the report states. After repeated requests for Tu to "step out back," both men reportedly ran out of the shop and went behind the business.
