Knowing when cash will drop into your bank account is an essential, especially if you have bills to pay. With a series of bank holidays in May, that means that many benefit payments will be paid on different days - and if you're in line to receive one of 12 benefits listed by the Department for Work and Pensions that could mean that you will be paid early.
If you are expecting a payment to be made on Monday, May 1, you will the money early. Expect the cast to land in your bank account early with most hitting accounts on Friday, April 28.Early payment includes those people who receive Attendance Allowance, Carer’s Allowance, Child Benefit, Disability Living Allowance , Employment and Support Allowance , Income Support, Jobseeker’s Allowance , Pension Credit, Personal Independence Payment , State Pension, Tax Credits, and Universal Credit.
Monday, May 8 is a Bank Holiday to mark the King's Coronation. So, if you are expecting a payment from the DWP on that date, benefits will once again arrive early. Instead, benefits are expected to be paid on Friday, May 5. You do not have to do anything to change when the money is paid to you on these dates as the DWP will take care of it. HullLive reports, however, that if you do not receive your benefit payment one working day before the bank holiday, you should contact DWP directly.
