Operated as a nature preserve and cattle ranch, the 5,329-acre spread known as Lava Lakes Nature Preserve lies just south of the tiny town of Montague, with extraordinary views of the 14,000-foot snow-capped peak of Mount Shasta. Seagal had the ranch on the market in 2014 for $12 million and again in 2015 at the same price, before it was taken off the market.
A 14,000-square-foot log cabin-style mansion built of Tennessee white pine, the main residence is a rustic-luxe retreat with nine bedrooms and 10 bathrooms. Filled with Buddhist statues and a couple of taxidermy bears, the house features stone floors, exposed wood walls and immense stone fireplaces. Highlights include a double-height living room with mesmerizing views, a chef-grade kitchen, and a spacious dining room that opens to a sunroom.
Known as Olander House, the ranch’s original home sits about a mile from the main house, and measures in at a roomy 4,200 square feet, with another three bedrooms and an equal number of bathrooms. The third residence, with two bedrooms, was used to house ranch hands.
