Phillip Schofield has spoken out in his first interview since leaving ITV's This Morning over an affair with a young runner while still married to wife Stephanie Lowe
Phillip Schofield has opened up about his "unwise but not illegal" affair in two candid interviews, making several shocking admissions about the scandal.
In another candid admission in the chat, Phillip admitted that his wife Stephanie, whom he separated from in 2020 after coming out as gay, was extremely angry at him when he told her the truth about himself and the runner. The star said: "It was in my dressing room in 2017, it was a consensual moment, it was mutual. It was not a love affair, it was not a relationship, we were not boyfriends; we were mates."
He said that the man was not made to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement nor was he paid 'hush money' by ITV. He said: "I WhatsApped her on the day I put out the statement. I said that you don't have to reply, you probably can't, but I want to say I'm desperately, desperately sorry." Phillip added that the ensuing conversation he had with her left her very angry as he had previously denied the rumours when she asked him about them.
Now, Phillip has candidly alleged that if he had not had the support of his daughters last week when the scandal began to erupt, he would 'not be here.'
