“He’s been throwing the ball very well,” said Thomson. “They have a lot of right-handers, but we have a lot of confidence in Sanchez. I don’t know how far he’ll be able to go. But he’s been pitching very well and throwing strikes.” Sanchez’s last appearance was on Sept. 30 - a one-inning relief appearance. His last start was on Sept. 24 when he struck out 10 in seven innings against the New York Mets.
Overall, Walker is 15-6 with a 4.38 ERA. He posted a 10-3, 4.02 ERA in the first half and 5-3, 4.83 in the second half, which included a 5.83 ERA in September.
