Philadelphia's soda tax cut consumption by 1.3 billion ounces

. “This decrease in taxed beverage sales volume was partially offset by increases in volume of sales in bordering areas.”from University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine said total volume sales of taxed beverages in Philadelphia decreased by 1.3 billion ounces after the tax was implemented in 2017 to 1.2 billion from nearly 2.5 billion.
