Equipping the plug-in hybrid powertrain from standard, the NX 450h+ lineup comes rated for a claimed 61 kilometres of all-electric driving. There’s still a gasoline engine to pick up where the electrons leave off, however; driven with a gentle foot and confident bladder, this cruiser should be good for nearly 900 km without needing to stop.
With this in mind, buyers should make sure to empty that tank at least every month or so; gasoline does go bad, and engines get cranky when they sit for prolonged periods. You could still run this all year without cycling a piston, but that isn’t to say that you should.More than just a powertrain, the NX 450h+ is an attractive runabout. On approach, shoppers will note the bold 20″ wheels and aggressive body kit, honing the already-sharp NX into one of the meaner crossovers on the cul-de-sac.
The F’s head-up display provides the usual speed and safety information, as well as dynamic feedback from the touch-sensitive contextual buttons on the steering wheel. Above, a digital rearview mirror can be toggled for visibility through an overstuffed trunk. To the centre, the F gains a wireless charging pad beneath the standard 14″ touchscreen.Article content
