A bedbug infestation is never pleasant to deal with, but there are some things you can do to deal with the problem easier.
The last thing you want to do when you climb into bed at night is find you've got an infestation of bedbugs. They're tiny, red-brown, flat insects that feed on the blood of humans and animals, and they're so small that they can easily hide in walls, mattresses, and other furniture you might have in the bedroom.
The Express reports that bed bugs can live for about a year without food, meaning starving them to death isn't really an option. They tend to disappear during the day, only feeding at night when people are asleep. They know when to come out due to the amount of carbon dioxide in the air from people's breath.
Bed bugs like to hide in crevices such as bolt and screw holes, so homeowners should steam the pieces of furniture that can handle the moisture and temperature. Only a few seconds of direct steam are needed to kill bed bugs.
