SANTA CLARA – A Caltrain hit and killed a person Thursday morning in Santa Clara, officials said.
Just after 8 a.m., northbound train No. 705 hit the person at the Santa Clara station, according to Caltrain spokesperson Dan Lieberman. The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office will release the person’s identity once it has been confirmed and their next of kin is notified.Caltrain did not release any additional information about the fatal collision, the commuter rail line’s eighth of the year.
