Checo tried to make up places earlier on in the race. However, he failed to really gain on the front runners and ended up not benefiting from the Safety car either after pitting three laps before. “Nothing worked today. I had a great launch but then I was pushed of by Ocon on lap one I lost positions instead of gaining. So, it just made it hard to recover.”
“It was really hard to make progress, especially at the end, you know, when everyone is on the same tyre age. It just makes things harder.”Despite Perez believing that he has become more sensitive to the car of late, the Red Bull driver still remains optimistic that he can turn this rough patch of form around round as he continues to work on improving.
