Kids in pubs, yes or no? Where do you stand?
The debate was started after Ava-Santina, political correspondent for Joe, posted on Twitter: "I'm sorry but kids at pubs running around uncontrolled by parents are really annoying and always makes me question why I'm spending money to suffer it."Absolutely Fabulous actress Julia Sawalha recalled her childhood experiences, saying: "As a child I wasn’t allowed in pubs.
"I absolutely agree. It's dangerous for one, people carrying hot food. I take my kids but they sit and eat, colour or play on the park," Samantha Joanna wrote. "Servers delivering hot food are concentrating on delivering said food on the plate, if children are running around they can easily collide with a server and end up injured from hot food."
"The key words there though are 'uncontrolled' and 'running around'. If they're sat with their family then there's no issue." Other readers said that it wasn't just pubs where parents needed to have control over their children while out in public. Maggie Evans wrote: "Same in shops and restaurants. Some parents seem to think it's OK if their children just run riot. Different story if they hurt themselves or break something, then it's someone else's fault."
