This was done by navigating a year’s worth of Google Trends search interest for all nine films as well as the “Solo” and Rogue One” spinoffs, making sure to hone in on location.
The first ever “Star Wars” movie — “A New Hope” — was the one to claim the top spot in Pennsylvania, with a total search interest of 38 percent. “In first place, by a big margin, is the big daddy of the franchise, 1977′s original ‘Star Wars,’ later renamed ‘Star Wars: Episode IV — A New Hope,’” the study elaborates. “No matter what you call it, it’s the movie that changed the face of science fiction movies and special effects.
