A Philadelphia-based music collective threw a hardcore punk concert at a Sonic in Jersey without asking the location or the town beforehand.
”—got a total of five hardcore bands together to perform in front of what ended up being roughly 300 people at the Sonic located in Hainesport, Burlington County.
Billy Penn continues to describe how the collective’s founder, Jayce Williams, managed to establish the Sonic as a venue via a friend who’s employed there. Neither Hainesport Township nor Sonic were asked for permission to use the location beforehand. “The concert was held at a franchised location without the knowledge or approval of the independent franchise owner or Sonic corporation,” said the chain’s national public relations manager, Brent Reams, after the fact. “The franchise is investigating the matter.”
