Presentations at the event can only inform residents without advocating for the bond's approval. City Attorney Darrin Coker has reminded council members that they can encourage people to vote but can't use city resources to promote passage of the bond propositions.This proposition would provide $105.5 million in drainage bonds to designated projects east of Cullen in older areas of town that have seen repeated flooding.
The proposition also includes $15.4 million to replace sidewalks and fill sidewalk gaps throughout the city.Proposition C would provide $33.7 million for park projects which includes $17.3 million to expand Hickory Slough Sports Complex and $16.3 million for Independence Park.
