Dominik Szoboszlai has impressed since completing a summer move to Liverpool for £60m this summer
Paul Merson has hailed Liverpool's transfer chiefs for swiftly sealing a move for the "outstanding" Dominik Szoboszlai - but believes the Hungarian's excellence won't be enough to secure victory at Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.
For the 22-year-old Hungarian, it was his latest remarkable showing since his move to the Premier League in which he has spearheaded Jurgen Klopp's to second in the table, just two points behind Manchester City. Led by interim sporting director Jorg Schmadtke, Liverpool saw off competition from Saudi-backed Newcastle United to secure a move for Szoboszlai.
Speaking on both sides' dangermen ahead of the clash in North London, Merson, who won the First Division with Arsenal, singled out Szoboszlai's seamless transition to English football and questioned how Liverpool faced so little competition from Premier League rivals for his signature. Previewing Saturday's clash beforehand, though, Merson predicted a score draw for the Premier League's headline event this weekend: "Jurgen Klopp's side are playing well, but they are also riding their luck on some level. They have enough firepower to overwhelm teams, but they are letting in too many goals for my liking.
