The 56 member club has been called on to meet climate pledges, but also need the backing of developed nations to combat the disaster

The Commonwealth Secretary-General is in attendance with other world leaders at the highly-anticipated COP27 in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt in a renewed effort to hash out new plans to bolster the threat of soaring global temperatures. The global summit, which started yesterday , is expected to hear from Ms Scotland who will ramp up calls for thorough actions and amplify the concerns of the 56 Commonwealth countries about the crisis.

The Commonwealth Secretary-General went on to say that those leading the fight against the climate disaster must never lose sight of the ”crushing consequences” if they fail to act now, adding that millions of people would be in danger and called again for “urgent action”.
