CLEVELAND, Ohio - Jenna Newman knows the challenges that come with caring for a child with special needs.She worries about what would happen to him if there was an emergency.
Newman decided to create the “Heroes Helping Those With Special Needs” organization, which trains first responders from all over Northeast Ohio on how to deal with a person who’s autistic. The sensory bags are equipped with everything a first responder might need when dealing with someone with autism, like signs, headphones, and even a whiteboard for those who are non-verbal.
