Thieves stole the painting in a heist on the museum in Haggs Castle in Glasgow in 1989.
A painting stolen from a museum in Glasgow over 30 years ago has been found after being put up for auction by an unsuspecting seller.
However, some of the British Museum's unaccounted art have now been identified and added to the ALR, BBC News has been told. Last weekend, Wales' National Museum told BBC News it also had almost 2000 items unaccounted for. The ALR identified it as a stolen art piece and Tennants Auctioneers immediately withdrew the item from sale. The family said it should be returned to Glasgow Museums.
