Padres third baseman Manny Machado 'moving around pretty good,' not yet put on injured list; CJ Abrams officially joins team as Reiss Knehr optioned to Triple-A El Paso

Instead, it was right-hander Reiss Knehr who was optioned to Triple-A El Paso as Machado continued to receive treatment on his sprained left ankle heThere is optimism Machado could avoid the injured list, although it is the third baseman who is driving that line of thinking.
“He’s got some purple and blue in there,” Padres acting manager Ryan Flaherty said. “But overall he’s moving around pretty good. He feels good and he’s moving around pretty good on it.” Asked specifically if Machado could avoid the injured list, given the way Sunday’s exit played out, Flaherity said: “Manny is a quick healer. He takes care of his body and he’s got the ability to recover really quick.”
