He’s a 6-foot-3, 205-pound rising senior who will go and get the ball for Avon Grove when it needs it. But Gavin Picard is not just a football player. The young man is a warrior, and he proved that across the past couple of months. Because, Picard woke up with a sore throat last October that wasn’t a sore throat at all.
And when doctors finally figured it all out, he was diagnosed with stage 3 Hodgkin lymphoma. It’s a devastating diagnosis for anyone. But Picard battled on and finished chemotherapy in March.
