donated more than $100,000 to Republican governor candidate Doug Mastriano’s campaign sparked a nationwide boycott of the Franklin County bun maker.Turns out, Shapiro, a Democrat, is a fan of the famous, squishy rolls served by national chains like Shake Shack.

“The Martin family runs a private company and has the right to support and employ whomever they want, and I believe that every company should make whatever decisions they feel are best for them and their customers,” Shapiro continued. The company stressed that while stockholders who own the company are members of the same family, they hold a wide range of views and do not support a particular candidate or party.
