The application, which would be based on three sites in Oxfordshire, is at a 'very early stage'.
An Oxford college's land would be used as part of a major solar farm that could generate enough power for all of Oxfordshire's homes, the company behind it has said.A consultant for PVDP said Merton College has agreed for its land to be used providing permission is granted. How the north site of the solar farm would lookShe said landowners including Merton College and the Blenheim Estate have agreed for their land to be used for the farm.
"We need renewable energy and lots of it but it's got to be in the right place. In our view that is on roofs and buildings and there is plenty of new development coming forward in Oxfordshire that could accommodate solar," she said. Overall, the whole site measures 1,400 hectares . Of that, 1,000 hectares would be developable and another 400 hectares would be used for environmental mitigation and enhancement.

INSERT-seq enables high-resolution mapping of genomically integrated DNA using Nanopore sequencing - Genome BiologyComprehensive characterisation of genome engineering technologies is relevant for their development and safe use in human gene therapy. Short-read based methods can overlook insertion events in repetitive regions. We develop INSERT-seq, a method that combines targeted amplification of integrated DNA, UMI-based correction of PCR bias and Oxford Nanopore long-read sequencing for robust analysis of DNA integration. The experimental pipeline improves the number of mappable insertions at repetitive regions by 4.8–7.3% and larger repeats are processed with a computational peak calling pipeline. INSERT-seq is a simple, cheap and robust method to quantitatively characterise DNA integration in diverse ex vivo and in vivo samples.
