Over 900 additional fines were issued to drivers for repeatedly breaching Low Emission Zone rules in just one month including dozens for five breaches, new figures have showed.
The number of drivers receiving multiple penalties for breaking Glasgow's Low Emission Zone rules is on the rise with 89 motorists handed five fines in just one month.
We previously reported how 4,848 fixed penalty notices were issued to drivers in August. 21 buses or HGV breaches were found to have breached the rules five times throughout the month costing them £960. A Freedom of Information request has showed that 743 motorists who were given a fine for breaching the rules have successfully appealed the ruling, reports LBC. On four occasions fines were issued to motorbike or moped users in the city centre - despite both vehicles being exempt from the rules.
