Israel is undergoing a youth soccer revolution. They have not qualified for a World Cup for over half a century — but could be eyeing a place in 2026. Oskar Gloukh is the teen at the forefront of two of their recent impressive tournaments.

This led to him being called up to the senior Israel team ahead of their November friendlies against Zambia and Cyprus. He came on as a substitute against Zambia but started and scored in the match with Cyprus. He said: “I was very excited that wanted me, but they were late for the bidding and came back when we had already closed the Salzburg deal. In the end, I think we made the right decision to go to Salzburg and not to Barcelona. It makes more sense for my development as a player.”
