NEON releases the first trailer for Ava DuVernay's Origin, which stars Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, Vera Farmiga, Jon Bernthal, and more.
Matthew J. Lloyd serves as the cinematographer, Spencer Averick as the editor, Kris Bowers as the composer, Dominique Dawson as the costume designer, and Aisha Coley as the casting director.
“I’ve known Ava for a long time and my love and admiration for her and her work goes back further, even before Middle of Nowhere. I’m truly humbled that it is this movie which has finally brought us together,” NEON CEO Tom Quinn said. “She has always been a gifted storyteller, and her mastery of her craft shines through in this deeply personal and inspired adaptation of Isabel Wilkerson’s book, and dramatization of her remarkable life.
Origin is celebrating its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival on September 7, 2023. It will also be shown at the Toronto International Film Festival before it releases theatrically in the United States later this year.Brandon Schreur has been writing about comics, movies, television shows and all things pop culture for roughly five years.
