Montre Learius Battle, 37, is charged with school employee soliciting a sex act with a student under the age of 19. That charge is a Class A misdemeanor.
Opelika City Schools Administration on Feb. 8 contacted Opelika police regarding an incident that took place between a student and faculty member. The nature of the incident has not yet been disclosed.
Battle, a teacher and a football coach, was taken into custody Thursday. As of 3 p.m., he was still undergoing booking at the Lee County Jail.Anyone with information is asked to call Opelika detectives at 334-705-5220 or the Secret Witness Hotline at 334-745-8665. Tips can also be submitted through the Opelika Police Department’s mobile app.
