UPDATE: The person involved in the collision has died and police are investigating it as a homicide.
The crash happened in a parking structure at the airport around 2:40 p.m., said Brent Weisberg, a spokesperson for the Salt Lake City Police Department, during a news conference at the airport.
One person was injured in the collision and they were transported to a hospital, Weisberg said. Monday evening, police reported that the person died in the hospital. A spokesperson for the airport had initially said that a pedestrian had been hit by a car, but Weisberg didn’t specify at the news conference whether the person was a pedestrian.Police tweeted photos from two crime scenes Monday, one in the parking structure and one at the airport’s tollbooth exit.
