Authorities responded to a crash on Oct. 28 involving a motorcycle that left one dead, according to a news release from the West Earl Township Police.Once at the scene, police discovered a 2011 Harley Davidson motorcycle had crashed head-on into a 1986 Nissan pickup truck.
Witnesses of the crash told officials the motorcycle had been traveling at high speeds before it crossed the center line, striking the Nissan. Police say the motorcycle driver, 57-year-old Brent Hoffner of Ephrata, suffered traumatic injuries. Officers and emergency services performed "life saving measures," and Hoffner was taken to the Lancaster General Hospital.Authorities say the crash resulted in a closure of a portion of Oregon Pike for about four and a half hours while the Lancaster County Crash Team conducted an investigation.
